How we got to have our baby

On Friday, I went into the clinic just to drop off something at the lab and decided to stop in at my Doctors office to see if they would be contacting me with the results yet that day or the next. The nurse that I had seen the last few times just happened to be up at the front desk when I came in. She thought that I did not look very good so she suggested that we take my blood pressure. It was higher than it had been before and my face and hands were pretty swollen. The nurse and doctor (a different one than I usually see because mine was not working on Friday) decided to admit me to the hospital right then and there. Wow what a whirl wind. I thought I was stopping it to drop something off and end up in the hospital....but what a blessing. God knows what He is doing...
The doctor decided to start a two part induction on Friday. The first part was an overnight medication and the second part we started at 5:30 am on Saturday. We did not get very good results on Saturday so my Dr. decided to repeat the process overnight and again on Sunday. At this point my blood pressure had gone down and I was stating to feel like I should not be at the hospital, but that they should send me home and try again next week, but that is not what my Dr. decided and thank God for that. By 11 am on Sunday I was not dilating and the baby's heart rate was dropping. My Dr. decided to go into a c-section right away. While the Dr. was delivering him she found the cord wrapped around his neck and that his placenta was looking old (which means he was most likely not getting all the nutrients). She also felt that with my bone structure he might not have fit into the birth canal. So he truly is a miracle! Thank you all for your prayers. God truly guided the right people into making the right decisions and gave us our healthy baby boy.

Here is our new baby born at 1:29 on 6/28/09. He was 6lb 7oz and 20 1/2 inches long. His head was 14 inches around.

Week 37.5

We went to the Dr. on Tuesday for an ultrasound. The baby still looks good. They think he is around 6lb 10oz. and his heart sounds good. Unfortunately my blood pressure went up so they put me on a medication to help lower it. I will be returning to the Dr. tomorrow (Thursday) for another check up.

Baby and I have been keeping busy with movies, internet, writing thank yous, and playing mind puzzles. I would not be getting so much rest if it wasn't for Matt. He has been doing so much for the baby and I.

Week 37

We made it to week 37 and none too soon. I was put on bed rest this last Thursday. What does that mean? It means I need to be laying down at all times except to go to the bathroom or shower. It sounds great at first, but I am sort of a go go person and it is hard to lay around. We want what is best for the baby so romantic comedy's here I come. I hope baby Ebbs likes chic flicks!

As the baby grows

These are from 13 weeks to 34 weeks. It is amazing to look back and see how much I have changes, knowing the whole time that this miracle is growing inside of me.
